Meet the Governors

Welcome to the Governors' section!

Please do not hesitate to contact the governors with any queries via email :
governors@avenue.leicester.sch.uk

Governing bodies are the strategic leaders of schools and have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education. The governing body has a strong focus on three core strategic functions:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  2. Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

At Avenue Primary School governors meet regularly with school senior leaders to meet these and other functions and responsibilities. The governors also visit the school to ensure they understand what is happening and to monitor and evaluate the impact of actions.

Governor Information

Governors hold an important public office so their identity and relevant interests should be made available to their school and wider communities. The attached document provides such details.

Governor Visits

Each term governors visit the school to find out more about what is happening in the school. These are summaries of each term’s visits.

Governance Impact Statement

Our governing body carries out self-evaluation and we have discussed what we do and the impact it has, which is summarised in our Impact Statement.
