In Years 3 and 4, children planned, practiced and produced pieces of mosaic art based on their Romans topic.
They learnt about the way mosaics were used and how they were tessellated together to create a picture or pattern. The children designed their own mosaics on squared paper using coloured pencils. They then created a mosaic using small coloured squares. Here are some photos.
In Year 3 and 4, children created mini self-portraits which they stuck onto a large bus as part of anti-bullying week. This was symbolic of the American civil rights activist Rosa Parks. The bus shows people from different backgrounds and walks of life happily traveling on a journey together. Here are some photos.
