Place Value (KS1 and 2)

Place Value is the building blocks of number. This is where children practise counting but also the value of each digit and how the value changes depending on its place in the number. As children move through the school the size of the number that is being looked at increases, as well as introducing negative numbers. Children are also given the opportunity to learn a little of the history of our number system and how this links back to Roman Numerals.
