The gates will open at 8.40am each morning and we ask that the children from year 3 - 6 head straight into school to their cloakrooms/ classrooms. Registration is at 8.45am. We encourage the children to arrive between 8.40 - 8.44am to ensure that they are not late for registration or to start their learning.

The children in year 1 & 2 should remain on the playground with parent until the teachers appear at 8.45am - they will be invited to head into school or line up to led into school.

Reception children will line up on our 'top playground' known as the KS1 playground. Reception parents can exit via either Avenue Road Extension or Lytton Road gate. However, the Lytton Road gate is closed promptly at 8.55am.

Note: parents can move between playgrounds using the walkway beside our reception classrooms.

Children Arriving Late

This is not encouraged.

Every minute lost is a lost learning fact or missed minute of support.

For children who do arrive late for school, arrivals should come through the Avenue Road Extension gate where a member of our admin team will record the child's arrival.

The information about lateness is shared with Mrs Underwood (Head Teacher) and the other members of the Leadership Team.

Persistent lateness will result in a consequence - normally a  missed playtime to enable the children to catch up on the learning that they have missed.

Children persistently arriving late to school will be referred to the Education Welfare Service which could result in a fixed penalty fine.

See our table below which highlights the impact of arriving late....
