All of our teachers at Avenue deliver high quality teaching and adapt learning to support all pupils.

 

Our staff have different areas of expertise and we have a wide range of training across the school.  Training undertaken by staff members is cascaded throughout year groups and phases to ensure a consistent and quality approach to all interventions.

 

Staff at Avenue are Team Teach trained allowing them to perform safe physical intervention when required for specific children.

 

In September 2015 we began a whole school initiative called ‘Let’s talk’. The programme focuses on speech, language and communication. All staff received training from the Local Authority and individual members of staff have been working alongside the ‘Let’s talk’ team to enable them to run this scheme in our school.

 

In September 2017, we invested in whole school attachment training to support children with SEMH needs.
