  • Gold Sports Mark

Mon 19 Sep 2016 Mr Button

    More great news for Avenue!

After a gruelling 90 minute assessment of the school's sports provision last Wednesday, we were awarded the Gold Sports Accreditation. Thanks to Mr Gordon and Mr Beardmore for all their work towards the accreditation: clubs, lessons, preparing teams and organising fixtures - we wouldn't have achieved this without your support. The rise in children participating and competing in clubs and teams has been nothing short of phenomenal. Also, a big thank you to all parents who have supported the clubs and teams in some capacity over the years; your contribution is greatly appreciated, and now we have gained deserved recognition.

    Onwards and upwards!

    Mr Button

Wed 29 Jun 2016 Mr Button

    Dear parents,

As dry weather is forecast tomorrow, we have decided to proceed with sports day for years 3, 4 and 5. Children need to arrive at school in P.E kit. Due to the unpredictable weather, we advise children come in tracksuit top, bottoms and trainers to compete. Also we recommend children bring a bottle of water to keep them hydrated.

  • Avenue Cross Country run

Tue 21 Jun 2016 Mr Button
A big congratulations to all children in year 3 and 4 for competing in the inter-school competition. It was the perfect afternoon for running and the performances did not disappoint. All races were fiercely competitive, highlighted by close finishes in the year 3 and 4 girls races. Amreen Khalique put in a champions performance, holding on for the win despite a strong late finish from Anna Mckinnon. The year 4 girls race went to the line, with Maia Ball finishing in first place just ahead of Yasmin Ahmed. Jacob Cadman excelled in the year 3 boys race with a brilliant tactical display. Scott Ennion clinched the year 4 boys race with a steely, determined run.
