• New Entrance for parents and visitors during school hours

  Visitors and parents coming to the school between 9.00am and 3.00pm  will now be asked to use the new entrance after the main gates are closed at the start of the day until school finishes.

   

  The new entrance is to the right of the original main gates - please walk up to the main reception office doors and press the bell for access.

   

  Any children arriving after the main gate is closed will need to be brought in through this entrance.

  

• Avenue Annual Summer Fair - Come and Join Us

  Please remember to come along to our school fair on Saturday 1 July 2017.

   

  There will be a number of stalls and activities.

   

  We also have the local police supporting us, offering a free bike security check by our Lytton Road entrance.

• BBC Ten Pieces

  Our wonderful orchestra performed live yesterday, it was recorded and uploaded onto the BBC 10 pieces website. We are very proud to have received our certificate today. To see it check out our music page in 'about us' 'curriculum' 'music'.

  We would like to thank Mrs Anderson for her dedication to developing music and our orchestra at Avenue.

  Avenue Primary is 'A' on Radio Leicester's alphabet of happiness on this day.

   

  They also do a weekly feature about children's learning and will be in school on Thursday to interview some children, which will be aired on Friday.

• What do you want to be day

  A fantastic opportunity for the children to experience what they would like to be when they grow up.  Children and staff have been asked to come dressed up in a job of their choice.   We have been very lucky that parents and people from the surrounding community have offered to come in and share their experiences of the roles that they have chosen in life.   All pupils will get the chance to ask questions to our visitors and learn more about their profession.  Look out for photos and experiences about our day which will be coming soon!

• Champions!!!!!

  Fantastic news!  This afternoon, a team of boys and girls from years 5 & 6 competed against children from 10 local Leicester City Primary Schools in the City Table Tennis Tournament.

  The children were, once again, excellent ambassadors for the school; but, also CHAMPIONS, winning both the boys and the girls competitions.

  The two trophies now reside proudly in our filling trophy cabinet.

  Well done to the children who participated, we are so proud of your achievement.

  A special thank you to Mr Beardmore for continued excellent coaching each week in our after school, and before school clubs.
